Still windy

Because of the wind that's been blowing since I got here, I haven't been doing much of anything, except taking a few pictures in the morning before the wind picks up.

Now the wind is nothing new around here; in fact, it was very common when I was doing a lot of target shooting at Pete's to get my shooting done before lunch, because more than likely it was going to be windy after lunch, and stay that way until late afternoon. The difference is that right now, the wind is lasting longer during the day and is blowing really hard, and instead of being an annoyance like it normally is, this wind is preventing me from doing much of anything outside, and it looks like it's going to continue for the next couple of days.

These windy conditions are keeping me inside the camper a lot, which gives me more time to work on my blog. And I need that extra time because my Internet is so slow out here that it takes forever to put my blog together and get it online. But I'm so happy to have any Internet at all while I'm at Pete's that the fact that it's slow really doesn't bother me.

If you remember from a couple of years ago, there was no Internet at Pete's, but I would still write my blog every day and then put them online when I got back to civilization. So for that reason, and for obvious safety reasons, I'm glad to have cell phone and Internet service, even if it takes way longer to do anything

Looking at the lower right-hand side of the picture, if you squint hard enough, you can see a pickup truck rolling down the road in a cloud of dust, which is the main dirt road that I use to get to my property. The Jeep trail you see at the bottom of the picture is another one I use to get to my property.

The high country is in the background.... I'm not in the high country, but I can see it from here, which gives me a warm fuzzy feeling.

When I got here the other day, I boondocked at the south end of my property, which is what you see here. Then today I moved to the north end, where my shooting bench is and where you usually see me.

Last night's sunset at Pete's wasn't spectacular, but it was still cool to watch. I find peace in the hills and mountains; they’re so relaxing… But cities are nervous and stressful, A place to run away from, until you can find a place like this.
