I’ve changed my mind.
Since nothing of interest is going on in my life right now, and there seldom is, I will continue this post from yesterday.
My first impression of my new dodo battery is that it looks high-quality, and it's hard to believe they packed 320 amps into a battery this size. Sitting beside my BattleBorn 12-volt 100-amp batteries, this battery looks amazingly small, especially when you consider the dodo battery is putting out more power than three of my BattleBorn batteries.
In fact, it worked out that my battery box in the Lance camper would only hold three of the BattleBorn batteries; the fourth one had to be located about 2 feet away from the Lance's battery box. But now I am looking at my Lance's battery box, which will easily fit another 320-amp dodo battery with room to spare. So if you need a lot of amp hours in the smallest space possible, it will be hard to beat this dodo 12-volt 320-amp battery.
And speaking of BattleBorn batteries, I know they're taking a lot of criticism now, but for the record, I bought four of them about 10 years ago, and they're now in their third camper, and as near as I can tell, from the testing I've done on them, they're all working just fine with no sign of internal pressure bulging the cases, no loose battery posts, and they seem to hold a charge just fine. So, as of now, I've changed my mind, and I'm keeping them as a second battery bank instead of a redundant inverter system... Having two separate battery banks sounds a lot more useful to me than two inverters; I could be wrong. Time will tell.
The sad part of the story is that 10 years ago I paid TWICE as much for one BattleBorn 100-amp battery as I just paid for one 12-volt 320-amp dodo battery.
