Exercise part one

I'm finally getting around to giving my opinion about exercise, but first we have to agree on the meaning of exercise. If exercise means a regimented program of physical activity, then I'm against it, but if exercise means moving your body at any time, anyplace, for any reason....then I'm for it.

As some of you may already know, I am basically lazy, usually unmotivated, and tend to procrastinate to the point I will probably live forever by putting off dying until tomorrow, and with attributes like that it’s easy to see that I’m probably not going to follow a detailed plan of long walks, visits to the gym, or vigorous calisthenics in the morning.

But despite my obvious failings, I have been blessed with a heaping helping of common sense and realize that the human body was born to move, and when it stops moving, that's a bad sign. So, to a lazy, unmotivated man's way of thinking, you don't have to jump out of bed in the morning and do 20 pushups; you just need to get out of bed and keep moving.

So how do you keep moving, and do I mean move all day without stopping? Of course not; that wouldn't be good for you, and you would look pretty silly. Moving to me means not sitting in the same place for long periods of time, like I did typing this blog, but doing simple things to make your life a little more difficult...What?!! Make my life more difficult? Are you nuts?... Well yes, actually I am, but that’s got nothing to do with the point of this blog post.

For some reason, this blog post is getting too long, so I will finish it up tomorrow and explain what I mean by making your life a little more difficult.

Finding walking for exercise boring, I strolled around Pete’s this morning while taking some pictures for my blog.

I've never considered walking fun. But I do enjoy getting out in nature, looking for any interesting critters, and taking a few snapshots.

moseying back to my teeny tiny home, which you can see in the middle of the picture, I enjoyed my picture-taking excursion just as I always do.
