Preparing for El Niño.

The 10-day weather forecast calls for 2 days in the low 80s and 7 days in the mid-70s. Then one day in the 60s. That sure sounds to me like Fall is on the way.

I replaced the Intelipower brand power converter that's in the Lance; it's the factory original. Since it was built in 2013, it doesn't properly charge lithium-iron batteries, so I figured this was a good time to change it out before I get on the road this Fall.

It never mattered to me before, because the power converter only does much of anything when I'm plugged in, and since I'm seldom plugged in during the winter, I never gave it much thought. But last winter was so terrible, trying to keep my batteries charged up because of all the cloudy weather in Arizona. I figured a converter that properly charges my lithium-iron batteries might matter if all this stuff is true about the super duper El Niño party pooper that's supposed to befall all of us living and traveling in the Southwest, and I might have to stay at an RV park overnight just to charge up my batteries.

it's a kind of long walk up a rather steep hill to get to the cemetery where Doc Holliday is buried in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. Since it was winter when he died, some folks say the wagon, carrying his body, never made it up to the cemetery, and they buried him in a shallow grave near the cemetery. Some say he's buried at the foot of the hill under what is now a modern neighborhood. Fact is, no one knows for sure. Because at the time, he was nothing more than a dead-broke gambler and criminal who died of tuberculosis and no one in those days cared anything about where he was buried.

Main Street, Leadville, Colorado. Despite having lead in the town's name, Leadville was a huge silver producer, full of millionaires and other rich folks.

Another veteran of the Battle of the Little Bighorn?

Even the youngest children took part in the powwow by showing the baskets they made by hand.

Overall, I would say everybody I saw at the powwow was happy and smiling.
