Worried about Arizona weather?
My new Intelepower converter seems to be working great. It gets my lithium-iron batteries up to 14.4 volts, as it should, and my old converter only went up to 13.6 volts, which I believe is what lead-acid batteries need. From there, my solar panels would take the batteries up to 14.4 volts. This is no big deal now, but El Niño predictions still make Arizona look chilly, wet, and cloudy much of the time this winter, which makes me worry about keeping my batteries charged.
If it gets too bad, I could do what I did last year and order more solar panels from Home Depot to put in the yard. This time, I would get panels that match the ones I already have, so I wouldn't have to install a new solar controller. I've seen a lot of other boondockers with no panels at all on the roof, just bunches of panels out in the yard, so I wouldn't be the Lone Ranger if I had eight panels out in the yard instead of the four I have now.
It looks like the part of Arizona that's going to have the best weather is the southwest corner of the state, largely the Sonoran Desert and the heart of Saguaro cactus country. So it looks like there might be a lot of Quartzsite in my future travels if the weather guesstimaters are correct
Or maybe I should probably worry less about what Arizona is going to be like this winter, and just think about what they're predicting for Colorado, which is a lot of cold and mucho snow, even more so than usual.... So no matter what kind of weather befalls Arizona, it's gotta be better than being in Colorado.

On Saturday, my grandson had his birthday party with all his friends, and on Sunday, he had a birthday party with just the family.

My grandson's main present was an electric scooter. He's had a manual scooter for a couple of years, so now he’s graduating to a scooter that can take him up and down the hills in the neighborhood.
Before the scooter could be turned on, my grandson had to take a safety test on the internet.
My daughter is adjusting my grandson's helmet, which is what I got him for his birthday.
My grandson got the hang of it really quickly and rode it to school the next day.
