A monkey wrench.
A small but Effective monkey wrench has been tossed into my travel plans. Yesterday, I received a phone call from my VA doctor's office telling me I couldn't renew my blood thinner prescription without a visit with the doctor...And since she's a VA doctor, an appointment wasn't available until well into December, a time when I plan to be well into Arizona.
This was bad news to me. Not just because it would be drastically delaying my trip, but because it would involve a visit with a doctor, which I try my best to avoid, if at all possible. So after a lot of whining and begging on my part, I was told that instead of seeing the doctor, I could do a "Zoom call" with her on November the 5th. Now the VA doesn't do Zoom calls. They do what they call "VA Telehealth," Which In the future I will refer to as Zoom calls, since that's easier to write than VA telehealth.
The date was a lot more tolerable. But I've never done a Zoom call in my life and had absolutely no desire to learn how. But the nurse said she could schedule a phone call with the VA IT experts who could explain to me how this miracle works.
Tomorrow I have to drive to my VA clinic for a blood test, so the doctor will have some information on how I'm doing. So then, on the 5th of November, I'll have to do this Zoom call thingy.
Now, I know this isn't the end of the world. With all the appointments and things like that, I had to do this summer; I was so happy to have it all over with. Finding out all of a sudden it wasn't all over with was mentally painful. But it could have been a lot worse. If I were a normal person around now, I would be canceling reservations all over Arizona and throwing all my carefully designed plans in the trash...Thank goodness I'm a boondocker and have no plans.
A walk around the neighborhood yesterday morning. This used to be a very expensive go-anywhere camper. It looks packed up and ready to go somewhere, probably somewhere warm.
