Weeks instead of months.
I'm measuring my time in the Denver area in weeks, not months, figuring I've got only a little more than two weeks before I head south for the winter. I'll stick around until Halloween is over, and then just wait until the weather is suitable for traveling through Colorado and northern New Mexico.
The weather in New Mexico has been rather disappointing. Usually, the Fall weather in New Mexico is great. And I look forward to it, but lately, because of the nefarious, nasty El Niño, the weather has been pretty chilly and rainy enough to cause flooding. And, Needless to say, chilly and rainy isn't the kind of weather any boondocker would enjoy.
Also, all this rain New Mexico's been getting is filling up the rivers and the reservoirs. I was interested in visiting Elephant Butte Reservoir when it was very low, but now it might not be. That leaves my only remaining reason for visiting New Mexico: to see if there are any Cranes at the Bosque this year. And since there's free boondocking in the tiny town about 5 miles from the Bosque, I was planning to spend maybe a week there. Depending on the bird situation. But if New Mexico is going to be cloudy and rainy, I'm not sure what I will do. I guess it doesn't matter much since northern Arizona doesn't look all that great either, weather-wise.

The high lonesome,
Just like the oceans, the mountains can be beautiful to look at, but also, like the oceans, they can be very dangerous
My Granddaughter riding her scooter.
My Grandson and his dad are figuring out how to make the electric scooter work. Scooters are all the rage right now. I think they're almost ready to outnumber the bicycles.
