July should be a busy month.

Due to technical problems with my cell phone and computer, this blog post, which was supposed to get posted yesterday afternoon,..... Didn't, so I'm posting it this morning, and I think I've fixed the problem that caused that. Now, if I can just figure out why my cell phone isn't telling me when I receive a message.... And that's been going on for days, causing me endless trouble.

It's been pretty hot lately. The highs for the day are usually in the low 90s, but the nighttime lows have been getting up into the low 60s, which is a little too warm for sleeping the way I like. This would be a good time to head up into the mountains, to avoid these warm nights, but with flocks of tourists in town, and one of the biggest holidays of the year upon us, this would also be one of the worst times to head for the mountains.

I can hear the high country calling to me, and at the moment I'm unable to answer, having too many other, more important things to do. Now that the truck has passed its emissions test, getting its 2027 registration is just a formality I will complete online next week. That just leaves my visit to an eye doctor to get my Colorado form filled out, indicating my old geezerly eyes are good enough to drive, which is kind of weird when you consider that I can see better now after my cataract operations, than I could when I got my learner's permit as a teenager.

So it looks like July will be a month of getting things accomplished if I can just hold at bay my extraordinary lack of ambition, my disturbing absence of motivation, and my world-renowned procrastination.

A much too cloudy sunset at Pete's. Catching a pretty sunset means everything has to be just right. The sun has to be in the right position, the clouds have to be in the right place, and there has to be just the right number of them. And the clouds can't be too thick. None of those things happened in this picture.
