On the road.
I waited until about 9:30 am, when the Denver morning rush hour had thinned out, before I left. I almost postponed my leaving until tomorrow because it was pretty windy this morning, and it came very close to being windy enough to make driving difficult. But I figured I would give it a chance since I didn't want to have to pack up everything again, and I dealt with the breezy conditions until I got to Colorado Springs. And since the wind was supposed to pick up as the day went on, I decided to spend the night in the Bass Pro Shop parking lot.... Which I enjoy, so you don't have to twist my arm.
It's supposed to get in the high 90s today, which means that I spent some extra time walking around the giant Bass Pro Shop store just to stay cool. There were a lot of folks in the store, so I assume that the heat was bothering everyone.
Heat shouldn't be a problem when I get up to my property since it's about 9000 feet in altitude, and when you have that much altitude, things tend to stay pretty cool, and sure enough, the weather forecast for today is sunny, low 80s in the daytime, and mid 40s at night.... It's been a while since I've slept in blanket-weather, so I'm very much looking forward to it.
