Stuck my sticker
I put my new 2027 registration sticker on my truck this morning. I always look at that as the first step to getting things ready to head South in the Fall. After all, without a current registration on my truck, I won't be heading south or in any other direction.
I spent some time taking the cables off my Battle Born battery bank. I'm not going to remove them all until my new battery arrives. I need at least one battery hooked up to run a few things, but I sure can't go anywhere and boondock, so I guess my traveling is suspended until I can start putting things back together instead of taking things apart like is happening now.
I'm hoping I can get some things done that absolutely have to be done before the end of this month, which will give me some free time in August to head up into the mountains and get out of this heat.
August, especially the middle of August, is a good time to head to the mountains because a lot of the tourists have gone back home to get their kids in school. So, a lot of popular camping areas in the mountains, which I wouldn't even consider going to right now, will be almost empty in the middle of August. And it will stay that way until the leaves start to change about the middle of September, when the leaf peepers will come out. Leaf peepers don't normally fill up the boondocking areas; they mainly fill up the roads.
