I miss my desktop

There's a slight change in the 10-day weather forecast for me. It looks like five of those days will have temperatures in the 70s instead of the 80s, but the lows are still in the 50s. That looks like a slight shift to me toward the direction of Fall..... And I'm glad to see it.

My computer has been running so slowly, especially when working on my pictures, that I really need to upgrade to a more powerful computer with more RAM, a faster processor, and a quicker Nvidia GPU. It had all those features when I bought it seven or eight years ago, but now newer computers have surpassed it. And that's the way it always happens: computers quickly age out as cameras improve and become faster, producing larger file sizes, while video cameras can now capture videos up to 8K. My Asus computer was a monster eight years ago when I had a 24-megapixel camera, and top-line video was 4K. However, my old laptop can barely keep up with what I'm asking it to do now.

I spent some time yesterday going through its two SSD solid-state drives, cleaning out the debris that accumulates on a hard drive through daily use, and uninstalling programs I no longer use. It helped a little, but not enough to make a significant difference.

I miss my large desktop, which I built a long time ago. I designed it to be easily upgradable, with plenty of room in the case for bigger and more powerful components, so that I wouldn't have to deal with buying a new computer every time a new chip came along. But I never figured on living in a camper so small that there was no room for a desktop computer..... Oh well, such is life.
