Fall has come to the high country….. And I’m not there

I'm hearing that the mountains are in full Fall leaf changing this weekend, and I would love to see the leaves, but my eye situation prevents me from doing that. I'm sure it wouldn't be very enjoyable trying to take a picture when I'm seeing double most of the time, due to one eye seeing things completely different than the other.

Fall is my favorite time of year, and if I had my druthers, I would head for the mountains and spend a couple of nights at Pete's, and then head for the High Country where the trees should be at their colorful best. And then in October, I imagine I would probably head for Alamosa, Colorado, and take some pictures of the Sandhill cranes that should be migrating through there next month.

However, unfortunately, that's not to be, at least not for this year. But next Fall I'll be able to do all that, and with my brand-new eyes, the trees will look prettier than ever, and I'll be able to spot more Sandhill cranes than I could before.

Theboondork...... good things come to those who wait.

Sandhill cranes are returning to the lake to roost for the night.

Cowboy action shooters. Ben Avery gun range last winter. For safety reasons, spectators and Picture snappers like myself can only get pictures of the shooters’ backs. No one is allowed to be in the area beside the shooters, because they’re shooting at metal targets and the lead bullets splatter in all directions. And nobody’s allowed near the front of the shooters for obvious reasons.
