The bird
Tomorrow and Saturday, the high temperature is supposed to hit 90°. That sounds pretty warm, especially for February, but fortunately, the humidity is predicted to be in the low teens, so 90° is tolerable, especially if you stay out of the sun.
I can't help but think that I don't remember ever seeing 90° before during this time of year, so I looked it up on the Internet, and it appears that 92 is the record, so I very well may have never seen a 90° day before in February in Arizona.
I like birds, and I take pictures of birds whenever I get the chance, but there's one bird that can make life so miserable you want to shoot the thing every time you see it. No, it's not the jewel-like hummingbirds that flit from flower to flower, bringing only beauty to everyone who sees them. And it's not the penguin that looks like it's wearing a tuxedo and has a funny waddle that you can't help but laugh at. And it's definitely not the puffin, which I've never even seen in person and has a name that's fun to say... puffin. PUFFIN! I never tire of saying puffin.
No, it's none of those birds; it's a bird that never becomes weary of making your life as miserable as possible every spring. A bird that can turn a peaceful, laid-back human being into an enraged killer who will buy a shotgun for the sole purpose of eliminating this accursed bird and all of its progeny. A bird so heartless it will tear families apart, or drive them into total despair, a foul bird that mocks the very meaning of the word bird.
So what bird am I talking about? Looks like you'll have to wait till tomorrow to find out.... But your guesses will be appreciated.
Theboondork
Just in case you thought that boondocking only appeals to penniless po-folks like me, I offer this RV for your perusal …. It's a Renegade Super-C, Verona L.E. With a base price of $500,000. And goes up from there based solely on the depth of your bank account.
I don't know if he's any happier than the rest of us out here in the desert, but I doubt it…. Most of us are living the way we want to live, and it's hard to get any happier than that.
I watched these folks pull out of their nifty boondocking spot and considered moving in myself. But I don't know. I've been so lazy lately that it may take more effort than I'm willing to put into the move. But on the other hand, I'm planning on staying here a little while longer. And a new view would make life a little more interesting for me.
There are a few Mexican poppies around here, not as many as at the county boondocking area I was at a few days ago, but enough to be a nice surprise.
