How often do I need to see a doctor ?
I noticed the clear plastic headlight covers on my truck are turning yellow again, and they’re not bright enough to see what's going on when it gets dark. That's not a serious problem now since I seldom drive at night, mainly because I can't see very well. But now that I've had the cataract surgery, I've got some of my night vision back. I think if I can get my headlights back to being bright again, I might be able to stay out a little longer when I'm taking pictures, instead of having to return to wherever I'm boondocking before it gets too dark.
I did the sanding and polishing shtick several years ago, which worked okay, but now the headlights are getting scratched and yellow again. Not wanting to go through the laborious sanding and polishing routine, I bought a kit from Amazon that you wipe on and wash off. I don't know how it will work, but I'll give it a try in the next few days, figuring that my headlights can't work any worse than they do now.
I forgot to mention that during my VA doctor visit yesterday, I got the results from my blood tests last week, and the doctor said everything they tested me for is in the normal range..... For a 98-year-old man, I was obviously happy to hear that she expected me to live that long. She poked and prodded at me for a while, asking me if that hurt, and I told her if it did, she would be the last one I would tell, or I would never get out of this clinic. She also rooted around under my shirt with her stethoscope and told me to breathe. I told her that I'd been breathing since I walked in the door, and I found it extremely odd that, as a doctor, she hadn’t noticed that yet.
Fortunately for me, she let me out of the exam room in about half an hour, so I didn't have to jump out the window like last time. It will be sometime next Spring before I see the doctor again, and she admitted that sounded way too soon.
