I’ll get to see some Fall leaves, just not in Colorado
On a quiet, peaceful Monday, I hope some folks are up in the mountains viewing the changing leaves, as this may be the last chance to see them at their best. Usually, about this time, some rain and winds might come along, or snow and winds in the mountains, and the beautiful leaves will be no more. I think that's already happened in the high country because from what I'm hearing, the high in Denver today is the mid-50s, so in the mountains, it probably never got above freezing. I unfortunately didn't get to go anywhere and see the leaves this Fall, but as I head south around the end of this month, I will be driving into the Fall in New Mexico, so I'll get to see plenty more changing leaves as I go.
I still haven't made up my mind about when I will leave, but it willI be either a little before or a little after Halloween, somewhere in that general area. I guess this'll be one of those times when I wake up in the morning with an urge to put on my traveling shoes, and like a cool summer breeze, I'll be gone.
I think I mentioned that I got a jury duty summons about a week ago, for jury duty on October 8th. Feeling like I've been called up for way too many jury duties already, I had no feelings of guilt about talking my eye surgeon into writing me a no-driving excuse, which she did without question. Why in the world does the county want a 79-year-old man, with all kinds of 79-year-old man problems, to serve on a jury is beyond me……we can barely hear, we can scarcely see, and every 15 minutes we gotta pee!
Theboondork……. old and geezerly, but hanging in there.
My daughter was in the mountains last weekend and took these pictures of the leaves. Some of the high country has a light dusting of snow.
These pictures my daughter took certainly make me wish I were up there… maybe next year.
The grandkids are at some local event in a nearby town.
