On my way to Pete’s
I decided this morning to go to Pete's, a.k.a. my property near the 11-mile reservoir. But I figured I would stop at the Bass Pro Shop tonight and get to Pete's tomorrow. The reason I did it this way is that my youngest son might meet me out there on Sunday and spend a few hours with me at Pete's. And among other things, I've got to stop at a Walmart on the way there, so I'm not sure what time I'll arrive at the property.
I'm looking forward to getting out there and breathing some cool, clean mountain air. It will also be interesting to see what the road conditions are near the 11-mile reservoir, and if I still have cell phone and Wi-Fi service out there. That's a biggie because without a phone and Wi-Fi, I wouldn't be able to stay out there very long, and I’m still checking out summer places to boondock.
I'm going to take another dirt road to get to Pete's. I call it the Wilkerson pass route, since I have to go over Wilkerson pass to get on that dirt road. It's a little farther than the normal way, but it’s worth it if it doesn't beat my truck and camper up like the normal road does.
