A second trip to Pete’s?
Now that the camper is operating normally, I've been thinking of going to "Pete's," also known as my property near 11 Mile Reservoir, possibly Sunday, and spending some time out there.
My problem is that I've been trying to think of things to do out there, but of all the activities I used to enjoy doing at Pete’s, the only thing left is a bit of shooting. However, even that's only barely interesting now that I've moved on from my gun hobby. I still like to fire my self-defense guns every once in a while, but the days of me spending a weekend out there making and shooting a thousand rounds of ammo no longer interest me.
And since my gun hobby is no more, I no longer have the urge or the need to reload ammunition, which used to be an important hobby to me. I no longer have a dirt bike to ride around out there anymore since I sold my Yamaha WR450. I don't have any fishing tackle left to do any fishing at the 11-mile reservoir while at Pete's. I no longer have the stamina or desire to put on a backpack and climb the hills and mountains like I used to. I still enjoy the peace and quiet of the forest and the mountains, but other than that, there's not much I can do out there that I can't do sitting in the family’s driveway.
So that's one of the reasons I would like to go out there again to see if there's things I can come up with to entertain myself while out at "Pete's" for extended periods of time, since all the reasons I bought that piece of property are no longer things I'm interested in, or as much as I hate to admit it, are capable of doing.

The family cat. The family cat was found as a kitten living in the national forest all alone. So she was taken home and given a good life. She was an outdoor cat, and since we were living in a house in Woodland Park, Colorado, she would spend her days roaming around in the national forest next door, living amongst the bears, mountain lions, and coyotes, and somehow managed to not only survive but to thrive. She's now about 14 years old and has no forest to roam around in, and I think she misses living in the wild; after all, that's what she was born to do.
This was weird. I heard some planes flying over the neighborhood, so I grabbed my camera to see what they were doing. Six airplanes flying in formation, really far away from me, which is why the plane is so small, when one of the planes broke formation, did a few barrel rolls, and then joined the formation again. I don't know what was going on or why they were doing what they did, but they just kept going, and I never heard anything from them again.
