The End of Trail.
The weather speculators speculated that today would be totally cloudy the entire day, and I would need all the solar panels I could get….WRONG! It was kinda cloudy today, but the clouds weren't thick enough to completely block the sun, and there were several hours of sun, so I still managed to get some decent charging from my roof panels. So I didn't bother to set up my mobile panels on the ground. And speaking of mobile solar panels, I'm still trying to find the best way to store my new solar panels when they're not in use, while also making them easy to access and put away when I need them.
I was just noticing that one of my favorite spectator events that I run into during my travels is the "End of Trail" cowboy shoot at Ben Avery gun range, near Phoenix, Arizona. Even though I try my best to avoid making plans, schedules, and itineraries, the End of Trail is something I try not to miss. It starts on February 22 and lasts for about a week, and I find it enjoyable, thanks to all the great people who participate in the event, the incredible venue that the Ben Avery gun range offers, and the Phoenix weather that can't be beat during the month of February.
So it looks like about the middle of February, I'll be moseying in the direction of Phoenix to boondock on some Arizona trust lands, only 3 miles from the Ben Avery gun range, and spend a few days watching events I truly enjoy.

The Arizona trust lands boondocking area I'm staying at. Sunrise this morning.
Boondocker's stay in places that aren't just for camping, most of the time were on public lands that can be used for reasons other than boondocking, such as old mines, parks, and yes, even grazing land. So we boondockers have to be prepared for almost anything, including a small herd of cattle ambling through my camping spot at dusk.
It looks like I'm not the only one who needs to set solar panels on the ground every now and then.
