Packing up and moving on. ~ 2 comments

I somehow managed to scrape up enough ambition and energy to go for a walk on the dirt road this morning. I had to start my walk at 7:30 AM to beat the heat, and I didn't walk far for fear that the heat would beat me back to the camper.

I think I'll go to town on Friday, buy some groceries, and pick up some water. I've been going through water like crazy because of the heat, even though I'm mostly sitting around and not doing anything to make myself thirsty. I think I'm drinking almost twice as much as I normally do, which would be about half a gallon a day. If I add up making coffee and other small water usages, I'm using almost a gallon of water a day.

I haven't felt like going to watch any of the team roping events or even the barrel racing in town; it has just been so hot that I don't even feel like dealing with it.

There are very few RVers here at the Arizona trust lands anymore. Every once in a while, an RV will pull in, spend the night, and leave. And maybe once or twice a day, a truck will go by on the dirt road that goes to Vulture Peak. But nobody comes here and stays anymore, and I haven't seen a horse trailer go by in a couple of weeks. It looks like Arizona is winding down, as those of us who live here only in the winter are packing up and moving out…. soon to be followed by me one of these days.

A pitiful and yet still being used as a sunset picture when nothing else is going on. But there’s a week’s worth of cloudy days coming up, and I’ve got high hopes for sunrises and sunsets.

The well-traveled dirt road to Vulture Peak.

A picture of the desert taken before I decided to stick to the roads and dry washes.
