My responce to Larrys comment.

My belated response to Larry's comment. Holy cow, Larry, you came up with all that at 5 o'clock in the morning? I can't even find my coffee cup at 5 o'clock in the morning!!!

Your ability to do or comprehend semi-complicated math at any time of the day impresses the heck out of me. My ability to make electronic gadgets work is simply to order something from Amazon; if it does the job, fine, and if it doesn't, send it back and get something else..... No math involved.

Running my 18-inch Asus computer on my house batteries without going through an inverter seems either expensive or hopeless, so I only turn my big Asus on when I'm working on pictures or video, so it can be run on the inverter without using up too much power. Fortunately, my 13-inch Asus laptop can be run off the batteries with a fairly inexpensive gadget from Amazon since it doesn't require much power; it just requires power all day because I generally leave it on during the daytime.

I think one reason running my big Asus laptop off battery power is so difficult is that it draws more amperage than a normal car cigarette lighter plug can provide, which I believe is about 15 amps or less. And my big Asus requires 20 V and 14 A in, so I'm thinking: if I can make a superduper car cigarette lighter plug using marine-grade hardware and number 12 wire going directly to the batteries, maybe that can carry enough amps to run my big Asus; possibly then I could find an inexpensive and simple gadget that runs it from the battery without the inverter in between.

Oh well, if nothing else, it gives me something to do while waiting to get my driver's license reinstated.
