Liars, leeches, and thieves.

I'm back in the Bass Pro Shop parking lot again, boondocking for the night on my way back to Denver. It won't be long now, and I'll be boondocking in the Bass Pro Shop parking lot on my way to Arizona.

I was just thinking about Storrie Lake State Park in Las Vegas, New Mexico, and how that was the place I spent some enjoyable and relaxing time on my way to Arizona, buying my annual nonresident camping pass, unwinding from my busy summer, and reacquainting myself with the freedom of the open road, which might take as much as a week of walking around the park and relaxing, usually along with dozens of other campers doing the same thing for the same reason. But I can no longer afford the nonresident annual camping pass, so I need to find somewhere else to unwind, relax, and recover my usual laziness that takes over my mind and body when I'm traveling. I don't know where that would be yet, but some research has given me an idea, which I will talk about another time.

I knew it was going to be a waste of time, and I was going to get upset, but I did it anyway and looked up a Colorado State Park 4 miles outside of Trinidad, Colorado, where I usually stay in the Walmart parking lot, and after wading through a few pages of what is, in my opinion, the loathsome Reserve America drivel on their website, I finally determined a boondocking site, no electricity, no nothing, costs $28 a night, plus a $10 a night park entrance fee, plus a Reserve America reservation fee. So, boondocking for one night in a state park in my home state would cost over $40... Colorado is an embarrassment and, in my opinion, is run by liars, leeches, and thieves.... I've lived here for 40 years and It wasn't always this way, but it is now.

Sometimes sunsets have clouds. They're just in the wrong place.

A thick layer of fog lies over Eleven Mile Reservoir.

Other times, there are no clouds for a sunset, so all you can get is whatever you got.
