Is America a better place? ~ 8 comments.
I could be wrong; it's happened before, but it seems to me that America used to be a better place than it is today.
I'm not necessarily talking about politics, since political situations seem to go up and down; I'm talking about how the average person feels about life in America, and not just any average person, but old geezers like me who have been around long enough to have seen and participated in the way America was 50 or 60 years ago instead of reading about it in a history book.
I know there's a tendency for every generation to look at America and feel like they're the smartest and most knowledgeable group, but countries don't generally change overnight, which is why I feel like the old folks, or seasoned citizens, as Rush Limbaugh used to say, have the knowledge of what things were really like in the past, especially in terms of quality of life, since they lived it, and how that quality of life in America compares to today.
Everybody's entitled to an opinion, and since I posed the question, I'll express mine..... I feel that the quality of life in America has declined over the last 50 or 60 years, and that view is based on my lived experiences.
Forever in search of something to write about every day, I think this is the perfect opportunity to stretch this subject into tomorrow's blog, where we can discuss whether I'm right or wrong about America's decline in quality of life......
