Daylight savings time ….. why???

Here it is: Sunday, and the most exciting thing that's going to happen all day is turning my clocks back, and this is made even more complicated by getting to Arizona in a couple of weeks, where they don't turn the time back. And me having to depend on the internet to tell me what time it actually is.

I know there's a raging debate about whether we should turn the clocks back, and my personal opinion is...I've spent a lot of time in Arizona, where the time never changes. And I've spent a lot of time in Colorado, where the time is whatever the government says it is, and I can see absolutely no difference in how it affected my life, whether the clocks were changed or not. So I say, "Pick a time, any time, and LEAVE IT THERE."

My grandson belongs to a recreational basketball team that plays every Saturday during the season. He loves basketball and does very well.

My grandson's dad coaches the team, and he's also a big basketball fan and played the game in school, so he knows all the rules. My grandson's number is 13, but in this picture it looks like 3. I wish they put the player's number on the front of the shirt. That way, I could just say he’s number 13, and he could be spotted in any of the pictures. The way it is now, I have to point him out in every photograph.

That’s my grandson shooting the ball. These teams are based on age, so they're all within a couple of years of each other.

My grandson is dribbling downfield. The referees are all high school basketball players who volunteer.

My grandson just shot the ball. At this age, the girls and boys play together. But soon they’ll have boys' and girls' teams.

My grandson has the ball. Some of these kids, even though close in age, are still way bigger than others.

My grandson has the ball. He's the team's top scorer and usually accounts for more than half the points in a game.

My grandson has tried soccer and flag football, but so far he prefers basketball, and he's really good at it…. Of course, having a dad who loves basketball may have something to do with that.
