Well, the big deal holiday is finally over, and now things can get back to normal, or at least what I call normal, which is not having to think about any holidays coming around for a while.
I found it rather odd that, considering how Denver people love their fireworks, last night I only heard one fireworks explosion. I thought for sure last night would still be kind of noisy with folks using up their leftover firecrackers, or still celebrating the holiday, but for some reason it was as quiet as a church mouse around here with only that one loud bang right after I went to bed and that was it..... Holiday over.
I think I've found a civilian eye doctor that sorta, kinda, works with the VA, at least it looked that way on the Internet, so now I need to give them a call and make an appointment to see what they can do for me in terms of making me some glasses and filling out the paperwork required for old geezers like me to get their license renewed.
I think it will be interesting to see how often I have to renew my driver's license when I reach 80 this coming September. The driver's license I'm carrying now is valid for 10 years, but I've got a feeling my future license will have to be renewed every six months... But who knows? I've never been 80 before, so this will be a whole new experience for me.
