I haven't mentioned one of my favorite foods, which is cornbread and buttermilk, in a while, so consider this a mention. Now that I have figured out I can cook cornbread on the stove instead of in the oven, cornbread and buttermilk have again become something that I not only enjoy but also find quick and easy to make. So now I can add it to the list of things I can actually cook for myself, like popcorn, grits, and an omelet. …. Although my omelet doesn't actually look like an omelet to most people. But if you close your eyes, it tastes somewhat like one.
The flowers in the yard are starting to look very summer - like, and everything is blooming as usual, except for a lot of the roses. One rosebush is blooming like normal, that's the ones that look like they're made out of velvet, but there's not much going on with the other rosebushes yet.
I'm considering moseying over to Chatfield State Park tomorrow just to see what's going on. I haven't been there since last year, and since I get a free pass to get into the park every year, I might as well use it. And maybe I can get a few pictures worth posting that don't have a flower attached.
I ran into this website yesterday by accident, and it's a nurse talking about aging for about 8 minutes and seven things that help you tell if you're doing okay after 65. I passed all seven with flying colors, except I'm a little shaky on number four.... But it doesn't bother me; I was born that way.

It's a tough life growing up in the rocks, but it shows that a tough flower can bring beauty to just about anything .
The Cycle of Life ….. The flower on the top is brand new and full of life. The one under that has been around a while, and showing some wear, and the one under that is worn out, parts dropping off, and looks like it's been a bouquet at too many funerals….. That's me pushing 80.
