Planning on making plans.

Well, here it is, it's Monday already, time to buckle down, put the nose to the grindstone, the pedal to the metal, and come up with some serious plans for the summer. Since there are many things that need to be done, and not much time to do them, serious planning is in order.

As most of you know, I'm not one to make plans; in fact, I pride myself on not making plans for the future, and living a life of luck, chance, and serendipity. And living that kind of devil-may-care life is appropriate for my winter travels, but when summer rolls around, I give up that life of opportunity and adventure for a life of responsibility, commitment, and efficiency. After all, how could I accomplish a summer's worth of obligations without facing them head-on?

So the time for excuses is over, laziness is an anchor around my neck, and procrastination tugs at my very soul, but I must fight, nay, I must win this battle that occurs every summer, where stress-free living and freedom of the open road compete with obligation and dependability, two words that have no meaning during my winter travels.

So, in an effort to accomplish as much as possible, I have dedicated the entire day to planning how to handle the many tasks I need to complete in the brief time I have to address them.

Now I don't know how you handle complicated planning like I'm dealing with, but I find that leaning back in my chair, closing my eyes, and pretending to be asleep leaves my brain with nothing to do except come up with new planning ideas that I never could've come up with while watching cat videos on YouTube.

So I figure it will only take a few days of in-depth planning, such as I mentioned above, when all my plans will be listed, categorized, and simplified so that each task can be handled quickly and easily.... Unless, of course, a holiday comes up, which will cause me great confusion and force me to start over from scratch.

My grandson is approaching the camera. It looks like someone in the school system thinks it's just fine to teach kids that writing on the school walls is cool and a great source of entertainment, and in this case, it's only chalk, and that could be true. But the same school officials will be whining and moaning when some of these kids, who will be in high school one day, spray-paint the schools. I believe the kids call it "tagging," but I call it "illegal graffiti", and they might even "tag" the teachers' cars in the parking lot.

Oh no! That dreaded time of year is here, and what time is that? It's when I run out of current pictures because I'm not doing much of anything. It happens every year, and every year I dread it, but it does motivate me to get out and do something whenever I can.

But I do have leftover pictures from my travels that I've never shown before, so it looks like I will have to start digging through the graveyard of past pictures until I can find something worth photographing in my summer life.
