The Arctic Fox is officially for sale.
It's certainly hot now that I'm back in Denver. Cripple Creek really doesn't get hot, and even if it's too warm, it only lasts a couple of hours, and then it's back to the 70s again. But Denver doesn't have enough altitude to stay cool, but fortunately, "cool" isn't too far away.
I ended up listing the Arctic Fox on Craigslist. I'll probably list it on Facebook as well, but since I'm not a member, Facebook requires a lot of paperwork, so I'll likely get around to listing it with them in a few days.
July and August are generally when I try to spend more time up in the high country, where it's cool, but with the Arctic Fox up for sale, there's no way I can run back and forth between Denver and the mountains and maintain what little sanity I have left.
I had a great time in Cripple Creek last week, even though the place has changed tremendously; there were still many things that brought back good memories for me. I think being in business in Cripple Creek is a lot more fun looking back on it, but it was actually doing it. And I think a lot of things are like that. When we’re stumbling through life trying to make the best of it, it's a lot of hard work and tough times. But looking back on it, the tough times seemed to melt away until only the good times are left, and that's the ones we latch onto.
I think the military is a great example of that. It was a lot of hard times, made worse by slave wages, and the day I got my discharge orders was one of the happiest days of my life, and I thought I couldn't take it for even one more day. Looking back on it now, it was one of the best experiences of my life, and I wouldn't trade those times for anything in the world.

Pike’s Peak is peeking out from behind some hills.
The largest casino in Cripple Creek…… at the moment.
The Teller County Courthouse in Cripple Creek. I spent a lot of time there looking up property deeds and jury duty. I was known as the hanging juror; many a shoplifter met his fate at the end of a rope when I was on jury duty.
