I need to go where the Saguaro's grow

I've been thinking of crawling up on top of the camper and cleaning the solar panels. The last time I looked up there, they were pretty dirty and badly in need of a good rinsing off. But it's been raining off and on for two days now, so I'm thinking that nature just did the job for me, so I can make another cup of coffee and congratulate myself on a job well done.

The local temperatures have taken a nosedive, and the 10-day forecast is calling for high temperatures in the 50s and 60s, and low temperatures in the mid-30s. And since it's going to be at least somewhat cloudy for the next 10 days. It looks like the humidity will be high enough to affect things, such as requiring me to wear a coat in the mornings and afternoons.

But that's okay, New Mexico's always been kind of cold in the Fall and the Winter, which is why I don't spend my winters in New Mexico. When I look around and don't see any Saguaro cactus, that tells me it’s too cold to spend the winter, and I need to get to a place where the tall cactus grows, and the snowbirds go.

This is a picture of a very rare blue-bellied New Mexico cactus crawler. These birds can fly when they're young, but the first place they fly to is always an all-you-can-eat restaurant where they continue to eat until they’re too fat to fly.

This bird sat outside my camper for days, looking through the window, staring at my computer screen, and the only time he would move was when he climbed down from his perch to use the bathroom...It appears he has copied my lifestyle to perfection.

Cloudy skies.

If you trip and fall into one of these plants, you will be leaking all over the place.

Distant mountains in the sunset.
