A peaceful, relaxing night as usual, here at The City of Rocks State Park. I didn't get a sunset picture last night, since the clouds were so thick that they blocked out the setting sun. Sometimes there are no clouds for a nice sunset, other times there are too many clouds for a nice sunset, and sometimes you just can't win for losing.
It rained yesterday afternoon, not a coming down in buckets kind of rain, but a typical desert kinda rain that slowly drips from the sky and makes the landscape more damp than wet. But it was interesting, I don't recall in all the years I've been coming here ever seeing it rain before.
I've pretty much decided I'm going to stay here over the Thanksgiving holidays. I guess this is as good a place as any to end my attachment to the New Mexico state Park system. I'm at one of the New Mexico state parks that I've enjoyed over the years, and I'm at my favorite boondocking spot at the park. So I figure I will go into town early next week and get some groceries at Walmart, and buy something special for Thanksgiving. I don't know what that might be, but I'm pretty sure it won't be a turkey.
Speaking of a turkey for Thanksgiving, did I ever tell the story of how I almost had a peacock for Thanksgiving dinner instead of a turkey.... Probably not, it was a boring story anyway. The kind of story you tell the grandkids to get them to fall asleep or run away from home.

The main road that runs past my boondocking spot.
I went out for a walk this morning. But I didn't take many pictures, since they all looked like this. It rained a little bit on me, but it was okay. It's a pretty place to get rained on.

Some rocks, it's safer to go over than under.
This is as strong as the sun gets for most of the day.
