The sadness and the joy
Yes, that's the only way I can describe watching the Arctic Fox being towed away.
THE SADNESS
The Arctic Fox was, without a doubt, the best, strongest, and most well-made RV I've ever owned. I'm not sure if Northwood, in La Grande, Oregon, still makes them that way, but that's how mine was built.
No RV is built to withstand the rigors of boondocking, the bumpy dirt roads, the unlevel campsites, and the dusty environment, and yet the Arctic Fox withstood this and more, and at the same time never failed to keep me warm and dry.
I read stories on the Internet about newer campers made by different companies that appear to fall apart just trying to navigate the paved roads of very expensive commercial campgrounds, with their frames breaking and their axles bending and failing miserably due to poor construction and bad engineering that prioritizes profits over everything else.
But the Arctic Fox wasn't built that way, and therefore, instead of being glad it's gone, it will be missed, and the happy days it gave me after years of use will always be remembered and compared to every other RV.
THE JOY
There's not much joy in watching the Arctic Fox disappear down the street, except for the joy in the hearts of the new owners. Hopefully, that joy will bring them much happiness in the future.
theboondork
The Arctic Fox is heading down the road to new adventures.
The Arctic Fox is leaving its driveway location for the last time….. It will be missed.
