I’m pre hunkered
I worked on the Arctic Fox today, mostly just taking things out of it. I can't believe how much stuff I had in that fifth wheel. I think that was because the legal carry weight that the factory put on my 27 – 5L was almost 4000 pounds, so I never gave much thought to the stuff I was putting in it. The last time I had it weighed, it was still nowhere near 4000 pounds of stuff.
A big holiday is coming up, and I'm lucky I don't have to worry about it. If I were on the road somewhere today or tomorrow, I would be finding a spot to hunker down until the holiday was over. But I'm already hunkered down in my daughter's driveway, so I don't have to worry about it. I don't know if my family has any plans or not to do anything for Memorial Day weekend. I know this Friday is the last day of school for the grandkids, so they'll be at home a lot now.
I imagine all the state parks that I go to in New Mexico will be overflowing with Memorial Day visitors, so I'm glad I'm not there, especially since Memorial Day weekend is kind of a drinking holiday. About the only thing I dislike more than being around crowds is being around crowds that drink too much.
