The Turtle Crawl
Never having ordered anything from Home Depot before, I just assumed they would be like Amazon....... But they weren't.
If I order three or four items from Amazon, all of them will arrive in the same truck at the same time. However, apparently, Home Depot doesn't work that way. I got an email from Home Depot yesterday morning, about 9 o'clock, telling me that my order had arrived at my nearby Home Depot. And when I got there, I saw their outside delivery boxes and used the code they had given me in the email, and one of the many delivery boxes sprang open, and there was only one of my items in it. This gave me some concern, but my 9 o'clock email was still saying that all of my stuff would be arriving yesterday, so I decided to wait in town and go to Walmart.
While I was at Walmart, I got another email saying something had been delivered to Home Depot. So after finishing shopping at Walmart I moseyed back down the road to Home Depot and found three other items in the Home Depot delivery boxes, but I was still missing the solar panels themselves.
I also noticed that none of the delivery boxes outside the Home Depot store were not large enough to fit a solar panel, and I wondered how that was going to work. After killing more time in town, I got my third email saying the solar panel had been delivered, and I needed to go see customer service in the store to retrieve it.
Thankfully, everything arrived in fine shape, but I have to admit it was a long, drawn-out procedure. By the time I finally got back to my boondocking spot about 4:30, it became apparent I should've waited till today. and picked it all up at once, and that Home Depot's delivery process was definitely not going to put Amazon out of business.

More boondocking neighbors.
Looking at the jagged rock on the left, it seems like everyone sees something different. Some folks see a catcher's mitt, and they're probably baseball fans. Other boondockers see a lobster's claw, but if it's a claw, I think it resembles a Stone Crabs claw more than a Lobster. But I see a giant sea turtle, raising his head to the sky, and crying out for all the beautiful turtles that were killed and eaten when I was growing up.
You see, when I was growing up in Miami, Key West was famous for three things: the home of well-known alcoholic and author Ernest Hemingway, delicious conch fritters, and Green Turtle Soup.
In downtown Key West, next to the water, they had a place that was called the Turtle Crawl. Every day, fishing boats would come into the Turtle Crawl, and the giant green turtles would be sent down ramps into the building where they were slaughtered for their meat. This bothered me a lot since I always had pet turtles when I was a kid because they were my favorite critters.
The Green Turtles were fished to the point where they became endangered, and that whole nightmare was ended. Somehow, I knew there had to be a turtle somewhere that cried out for those that had died, and now every night when the sun goes down, an ordinary jagged rock turns into a memorial to all the Green Turtles whose last walk was down the ramp at the Turtle Crawl in Key West.
