Sometimes you just can't catch a break.

Glory be! A 10-day forecast with nothing but blue skies and 70° temperatures, it's finally looking like the desert that I so love.

An email this morning at about 9 o'clock informed me that my solar stuff had arrived at Home Depot. Needless to say, I quickly marked my boondocking spot with a traditional lawn chair in it, along with a gallon jug of water sitting in the chair so it wouldn't blow away, and hotfooted it out to the highway and the three miles to Home Depot.

There was no visible damage to the packaging, so I assumed everything inside was okay, and as anxious as I was to get it all home, I still forced myself to stop at the nearby gas station and Walmart to pick up a few necessities.

And speaking of gas stations, I couldn't help but notice that diesel fuel is slowly creeping up in price and getting way too close to four dollars per gallon.

I'm pretty sure most folks don't pay any attention to what's going on in California with their gasoline prices, but there's a slow-moving disaster unfolding with an oil pipeline closing, and a couple of oil refineries shutting down California operations, thanks to the California government's poor decisions, and since several other states in the Southwest get gas and diesel from California there going to be affected by serious price increases, and Arizona is one of those states.

It sure would be some really bad luck for me and a lot of other full-timers who got priced out of New Mexico State Park campgrounds, and now could possibly get priced out of Arizona because of exceptionally high fuel prices. ......Sometimes you just can't catch a break.

I'll talk more about my solar panel stuff in tomorrow's blog post when I start digging into it and installing things.

This is the second most popular thing to do while boondocking in Arizona. The first most popular thing is sitting in a lawn chair under your RV awning with a cold beer in your hand.
