Day seven, mission accomplished

Well, I've accomplished what I wanted to do, which was to spend a week at Pete's without getting bored, and I accomplished that mission. My Internet and phone service remained strong, and I always had something to do. I had various weather conditions to deal with, mostly blue skies, but a couple of those days it rained, some fog draped over the mountains, and a few minutes of hail one afternoon. But all in all, I enjoyed it.

The whole point of this week was to see if I could count on this as a place to spend some time during the summer, and as far as I'm concerned, the place and I passed the test.

I'll be heading back towards Denver tomorrow. I'll probably stop at the Bass Pro Shop and spend the night. Why? No reason, I just enjoy being there, and sharing the parking lot with six or eight other RVs.

Looks like next week will be the major holiday of Labor Day. I, of course, will hunker down and stay off the roads as much as possible.

September is going to be a busy month. There are three family birthdays in September, and I've lost count of the VA appointments coming up in September, the major one being my cataract operation. Unfortunately, I can't hunker down for the entire month of September and not come out until the month is over, but I would if I could.
