I’m sorry
I survived. The traffic was horrendous going to and from the VA regional Hospital in Denver yesterday afternoon, but my daughter is an excellent driver, and I know that because I taught her to drive.
My eyes are doing just fine, so no worries there. So now I've got my six-month checkup with my Doctor at the VA clinic on the 17th. And near the end of this month, I will have to go back to the regional Hospital for my final eye checkup and to get a prescription for glasses, mostly for close-up stuff like reading and computers. I can take that prescription to any civilian optometrist who accepts VA payments since the hospital does not make glasses. Right now, I'm using drugstore reading glasses, which work okay, but they're not perfect.
So this cataract ordeal is almost over, and I say thank goodness. I didn't realize it was going to take nearly a month and a half from beginning to end, or I probably would've put it off even longer, but I have to get my driver’s license renewed next Summer, and I knew my eyes weren't going to pass a vision test at the DMV.
I know I said I wasn't going to write anymore about my eyes, but my eyes seem to be a big part of my life at the moment, and I have nothing else to write about. But my doctor’s appointment next week is just a check-up, so there won't be anything to write about that. My final eye examination near the end of this month shouldn't be anything to write about other than it happened, so it looks like you may have heard the last word about my eyes...... so here's looking at you. From here on, I'll try to write about preparations for my future travels, and anything else going on in my life that doesn’t include a doctor.
