A busy day

A busy day today. I woke up at 6 o'clock this morning to get ready for a doctor’s appointment at 8:30 at the VA clinic in Golden, Colorado, which is only about 15 miles from me. I like to get there early so I don't have to worry about traffic slowing me down, making the drive less stressful. Since I'm in the camper, it doesn't matter when I get there. I park, get in the camper, and I'm home until it's time for my appointment.

Since this was a lab appointment for a blood draw, I arrived at the VA clinic about 45 minutes early. They took me right in, drew more blood than I realized I had, and in 10 minutes, I was out the door and on my way home.

I arrived back at the house just as my lab appointment at the clinic was supposed to start, so I counted that as a very successful morning. Now I have another doctor’s appointment at the VA Regional Hospital today at 3:30 to have my eyes checked by my cataract surgeon. I'm sure everything will be okay because my eyes appear to be working perfectly, and I couldn't be happier. I think the worst part of this afternoon's appointment is going to be dealing with the traffic going to and from the hospital.

My daughter is driving me there because I never know what they're going to do to my eyes once I'm there, so I might not be able to drive home if they dilate my eyes. So I'm writing this ahead of time just in case my vision is blurry this afternoon.

Normally, in my travels, I avoid being on the road anywhere near a holiday weekend at all costs. This is especially true on a Friday afternoon when everyone is leaving work early and hurrying to get home so they can pick up the kids and head for the mountains. This is unavoidable, and I'm not looking forward to it. But if I survive, I’ll let you know what happened tomorrow.
