Lack of motivation
I've been slowly getting my solar panels ready to hook up. I drilled some holes where the new solar panel wires will pass through the camper, and I've got the solar controller hanging on the wall and the wires that go from the solar panels to the solar controller hooked up, even though the solar panels themselves are still boxed up in the camper. The next thing I need to do is move a bunch of stuff off my sofa so I can get to the batteries that are stored under the sofa, then I can hook up the wires from the solar controller to the batteries, and the last thing will be hooking up the solar panels to the wires that come from the solar controller.
For a normal person, I would say the job probably could've been done in half a day at the most, but I'm not a normal person, and how much I get done usually depends on how badly I want it done and how motivated I am. A week or two ago, I was very motivated, my batteries were always low, and the clouds covered the sky for endless days, so buying and installing the new panels was a top priority.
But the weather changed, the sun came out, and now the weather looks mostly Sunny for the foreseeable future. This changed completely how badly I wanted it done, and my motivation slipped away in favor of days of R&R interspaced with an hour or two of work here and there. But it will get done, there's just no rush on my part as long as I can see mostly sunny skies in the weather forecasts.
The only thing that bothers me at the moment is the solar panels came in a rather large box and the other gadgets came in another box, not as big, and I don't know what I'm going to do to get rid of these boxes, even breaking them down will not allow me to do my usual trash disposal such as the Walmart parking lot trash cans, or trash cans at the gas station. I may have to head back to Quartzsite and go to the free Quartzsite trash dump unless I can come up with some other idea.
