Plan "B" ~ 2 comments

I finally made it to the Parker Walmart today, and it was packed. The parking lot was packed, the store was packed, and I should've packed up and gone back to Quartzsite, but I had just driven 30 miles to get there, so I couldn't let that go to waste.

The folks who were supposed to get me the solar panels I wanted turned out to be a big flop. They told me they were going to have the panels yesterday or today, and today they said it would be Thursday or Friday, so I said adiós. It wasn't the extra time the deal was supposed to take, after all I'm boondocking for free, and I have nothing better to do, it just bothered me that in this day and age of tracking numbers people know when things that are ordered or going to be somewhere or not, and I felt like I was being shined on for some reason so I transitioned to Plan "B".

I've seen on the Internet and saw that Home Depot has the solar panels that I've been looking for, but they're not available in every store, so I ordered the panels on the Internet, and they’re going to deliver them for free to my nearest Home Depot, which is in Lake Havasu, about 75 miles away. I was considering going to Lake Havasu anyway, just because there's so much boondocking there, it's a nice place to be, and the price was much lower at Home Depot than Quartzsite, so this gives me an even better reason to go there.

This afternoon, while looking at the camper’s battery condition on my cell phone app, for the first time, I saw that the voltage was at 14.4, which is a full charge for lithium iron batteries. And checking past readings on the app, I found out the batteries haven't been fully charged since December 12th..... That's how long the skies of Arizona have been so cloudy that they wouldn't fully charge the batteries.

Proof that I got out of bed before sunrise. If you can see a tiny string of lights in the far distance on the left side of the truck, that's the thriving metropolis of downtown Quartzsite. Where tens of thousands of Boondockers, much like myself, are drawn to every winter. I'm not certain why that is, but maybe it's because around normal RVers in campgrounds, we stand out as strange. But in "Q" every winter, there are so many of us that we look and feel normal for a month or two.
