What is my life like ? ~ 2 comments.
Yet another. great day in southern Arizona. The weather's been just about perfect. My only complaint would be that there are no clouds in the sky. Pictures just look better if there are clouds.
There have been lots of folks coming to Whitewater Draw and watching the birds. But there haven’t been too many people staying here overnight. I haven't seen the boondocking area full since I got here. But the parking area between the lakes and the boondocking area has been so full that people are parking their cars in the boondocking area.
It's great to be able to boondock here near the lakes and the birds. That way, I can make my life fit the birds' routine, which is:
I get up early and watch them leave the lakes and head for whatever feeding area they're going to.
Around lunchtime, the birds return to the lakes. And I go down to the lakes and watch them return.
Then, late afternoon around 4 or 5 o'clock, I walk back to the lakes. And watch the stragglers come back. And the stragglers are birds that went back to feed some more in the early afternoon, and birds that never returned from the lunchtime feeding.
Between all of that, the birds lounge around in the lake and aren't very interesting to watch, so that gives me time to head back to the camper and work on the pictures.
So my life is currently revolving around a gigantic flock of birds, which could be worse if my life revolved around a school of fish or a herd of cows, so I guess I'm fortunate that I'm more interested in cranes than I am owls, because then I would have to stay up all night.

Here are some pictures I took of the Sandhill Cranes today.
