We're living life backwards.

Still blue skies and in the 80s here, but Tuesday it's predicted to cloud up and drop into the 70s.

There's supposed to be some team roping at one of the arenas near town on Tuesday morning, so I am thinking of going to that. I haven't seen any barrel racing events in town, which I enjoy watching more than the team roping, but with any luck, maybe they'll have one before I leave here.

Since it's Sunday, and a lot of things in town are closed, I took the day off and made it a day of relaxing. I wish I could've done that more often when I was young and working for a living, but unfortunately, it's hard to find a place that will pay you for doing nothing, and believe me, I tried.

I think this whole working-for-a-living-and-then-retiring thing is backwards. I think we should be paid to enjoy our lives when we're young, and then, somewhere around 50 or 60 years old, we should have to go to work to pay back all the money we spent when we were young.

I realize there are a few small details that would need to be addressed associated with that type of life, but I think the results would be well worth it. The way things are now, you work at hard, boring jobs for 40 or 50 years, wasting all those joyous, youthful years when you have so many fun things you want to do. Then you retire at 65, and six months later, drop dead from a heart attack.... What's with that? If the world did it my way, who cares if you died at 65? You had nothing to look forward to except a miserable, useless job anyway.
