Two Ton Tilly

I finished taking all the eye drops for my eyes that were prescribed for me after my cataract surgery, or should I say procedure? The drops were never a problem, but they were annoying. So I'm glad that's over. I feel that's a major step to declaring this whole cataract thing as done and done.

I felt motivated enough today to do a few odd jobs in the camper. I've also noticed that I've been adding a lot of weight to the camper, which makes life worse for me and the poor truck that has to tote it around. While at the same time decreasing my fuel mileage. So I need to put the camper on a diet and make a concerted effort to start getting things out of here that I'm not using. A lot of stuff has been brought into the camper, and very little has been taken out. I can’t let that continue, or there will be a heavy price to pay.

I've noticed that I'm just about the only RVer who hasn't named my truck and/or my RV. I'm not sure why that is. I guess I've never felt a need to name an inanimate object, since that would be the very definition of anthropomorphic, or maybe I don't have much imagination. The arctic fox had a few nicknames, but I never used them, and I don't recall naming any of my other campers.

In fact, the only time I'm aware of being interested in naming a possession of mine was when Davy Crockett, the TV show, was very popular back in the 1950s, and Davy Crockett named his rifle "Betsy". Around that time, I was about eight years old and had my first BB gun. I remember naming it Betsy, not because it shot as accurately as Davy Crockett's Betsy, but because I didn't have enough imagination to name it something more appropriate.

So here I am living full-time in a camper with no name. It's not that I don't think the camper deserves a name; I don't seem to have enough imagination to come up with a good one. But if I keep adding stuff to the camper the way I have for the last couple of years, I will be forced to name it "Two-Ton Tilly".
