The best laid plans of mice and men….

Well, that didn't work out! My oldest son got here yesterday morning, ready to tow the Arctic Fox up to Wyoming to live in, and everything was going according to plan until he hooked up and started to pull away when he discovered the trailer brakes weren't working. We worked on the brakes for a while, trying to find out what was wrong, but the brakes appear worn out and need to be replaced. But he couldn't stay long enough to do that since he had to return to work. So I will have to find a mobile RV repairman and have him come to the house to repair the trailer brakes.

Back in the day, I would've done this job myself, but considering the current state of my 78-year-old body, racked with decrepitude, And barely recognizable as a human body, I no longer have the ambition, desire, or physical capabilities to crawl around on my hands and knees all day installing new trailer brakes.

But other than that, I'm back at my daughter's house, living in one of the driveways, and admiring some of the tulips that are in bloom. The weather looks pretty nice, at least for the next week: highs in the 70s and 80s, lows in the 40s and 50s, and humidity in the teens.

This weekend, being Mother's Day weekend, there are lots of plans to go out to restaurants. Most of these plans don't affect me since I no longer have a mother, but when I did, her patience and kindness will never be forgotten.

Even without road signs, I can tell I’m back in Colorado!

Taking a break at a Colorado rest stop.

Yup, I’m definitely back in Colorado as the Front Range comes into view, Colorado Springs to be exact.

A long time ago, Scenes like this made me sell my house in Miami, Florida, and move the family to Colorado. Now, this scene makes me want to head South and get out of the snow…. For better or worse, with age comes change.
