Hordes of invading tourists

I wanted to go to the nearby state Park this morning and wander around, taking a few pictures, but there was a chilly breeze blowing, so I decided to put it off for another day and use another winter picture I took months ago to brighten up my blog.

Usually, I can depend on taking pictures of flowers in the yard when I'm not going anywhere to take a picture, but I'm back in Denver so early that there are very few flowers blooming, so I need to go places to take pictures for the blog. I keep meaning to take photos of the grandkids; they've grown a lot since I left, but they're either busy or I don't have my camera with me, so the opportunity hasn't arisen yet.

June is going to be a busy month for me. I’m having several doctor’s checkup visits in June, some with the VA and some with civilian doctors. The VA is going to get me hearing aids this summer. It's just a matter of my going for the test, since my disability was shown in my discharge physical. I'm still trying to find out what the VA will do for me with my cataract situation, which will probably happen in June. And hopefully, in June, I can get an appointment with my dermatologist to give me a checkup. If you have fair skin and blue eyes like I do, being raised in Miami, Florida, seldom wearing a shirt, and getting some degree of sunburn almost daily was not a wise thing to do, but who knew? All I knew in the early 1960s was to slather on a bunch of Coppertone and head for the beach... I never even heard the word melanoma until I was in my 40s.

But hopefully, in July, when my son-in-law's mom is coming to visit for a month, I'll be able to spend the month of July running around Colorado, visiting various photogenic places, and dealing with the hordes of invading tourists that overrun Colorado. But it's only fair. When I'm in Arizona during the Winter, I AM the horde of invading tourists, and locals have to put up with me.

Theboondork.... Looking forward to July when I become the horde!
