A mini-vacation
I left for Cripple Creek, Colorado, this morning, but I needed to do some shopping for a few things, such as groceries. Since I'm not in a big hurry to get to Cripple Creek, as long as I arrive before the crowds, I'm treating this brief trip as a mini-vacation, taking my time and snapping a few photos along the way.
So I stopped in Colorado Springs to spend the night at the Bass Pro Shop. Their parking lot is large and convenient for overnight boondocking, and the store has a variety of interesting outdoor items for me to explore and possibly take a few pictures of.
I figure most folks will be heading for Cripple Creek on Thursday or Friday morning, and since I plan on being there on the second I should arrive well before the normal holiday crowds. And remember, I’ll be boondocking on my own property downtown, so there's no problem finding a place to stay.
I've been so busy getting the Arctic Fox ready to sell that it’s going to feel really good to wake up in the morning and have nothing to do except walk around and take pictures. I'm really looking forward to all the picture-taking, and especially the nighttime images I hope to get. And since my property is only a block from downtown, I'll be able to walk wherever I want to go.
Theboondork..... Badly in need of a mini-vacation.
