BYOB ~ 2 comments.

At last, back to normal, I saw a lot of folks yesterday afternoon coming home with boats and RVs, which usually means the holidays are over, and all the businesses are open again.

I needed to go to the bank today, fill up a propane tank at the local hardware store, and get a few things at the grocery store, so it was good to have all that out of the way, and especially to be in a place where all of that was only about two or three miles from where I live in the summer. During my winter travels, I got used to driving 35 miles to a Walmart, but having everything I need only a couple of miles away in the summer is a great change of pace.

And speaking of Walmart, I don't think I've mentioned in a while that the state of Colorado forced grocery stores to stop giving away free grocery bags to carry your groceries in, and now we all have to BYOB... "Bring Your Own Bag". This is incredibly annoying, especially for folks like me who often can't remember to take multiple bags with us into Walmart until we're done shopping. And of course, this is made worse for me by only having to do this in the summer, because New Mexico and Arizona, where I spend my winters, didn't make this stupid law.

We had the best grocery bags before, which were paper bags. They were cheap to make, and they deteriorated in landfills within weeks. But when something like that gets changed, it's hard to put it right again because it would mean someone admitting they were wrong, and in politics, that doesn't often happen.

Spring has finally sprung, so I took a few pictures of the flowers in the yard.
