Off to the Sunshine State.
My family was off to Florida this morning, and the grandkids are really looking forward to it. They're staying on some island near Pensacola, Florida, so they're going to be surrounded by white-sand beaches and the blue waters of the Gulf. Unfortunately, there are also going to be surrounded by stifling heat and humidity. But it's not quite summer in Florida yet, so it shouldn't be too bad. Being born and raised in Colorado, they don't know what "sweat" is... But we'll soon find out.
So I get to stay here and keep an eye on things, to make sure the house is still here when they get back. That's a lot of responsibility on my part, considering how little attention I pay to my own life. But it's only for a week, so I figure I can stay focused for that long. Until then, I can live on daydreams of the cool mountain air, the whisper of wind blowing through the forest, and, hopefully, enough clouds to get some decent sunrise and sunset pictures on that little piece of paradise I call "Petes."
