Free camping.
A relaxing day today, I didn't do anything worth mentioning, which is pretty typical for one of my Sundays.
I think tomorrow I will pack up and head up the road to Salida and spend the night in the Wal-Mart parking lot. I've spent more than a few nights there and found it peaceful and enjoyable. Then, Tuesday morning, I will complete the final leg of my springtime journey to the Denver area of Colorado.
This summer is going to be very busy, I've got things I need to sell, doctors' appointments, Things I need to put in my storage room, things I need to take out of my storage room, and a few changes I need to make in the Lance Camper. So all in all, it promises to be a busy summer, especially for someone as lazy as I am.

My free camping Spot….. With electricity, no less !!!
One of the many free camping spots at the wildlife area.
The Sand Dunes National Park at the foot of the mighty Sangre de Cristo mountain range. I know, this picture makes the Sand Dunes National Park sand dunes look like a bumpy beach, but in reality, some of those bumps you see are 700 feet tall. The dunes are simply overshadowed by the immensity of the 14,000-foot Sangre de Cristo's.
A deluge of water pours from the sky to the parched land below, but in a cruel joke, the much- needed rain becomes virga and evaporates before a single drop can reach the ground.
Like I've said in the past, it takes clouds to make a beautiful sunrise or sunset, but the clouds have to be the right amount, in the right place, at the right time...... if not, you get something like this.
