150th birthday party
Since I'm still rewiring some stuff, getting the camper ready to travel was a major headache that required a lot of effort yesterday and again this morning before I got everything stashed away and safe to travel.
I was hoping I would have my wiring job finished yesterday, so I could put stuff away this morning that I no longer needed for the wiring job, but I didn't, so this morning I had to put stuff away that I'm just going to have to take out again when I start working on my wires some more. At least now I'll be at Pete's, where the weather's a whole lot cooler, and I can work at my own pace [slowly] without having to do anything else except concentrate on the job at hand.
My daughter told me yesterday that there was a big deal going on in Denver today due to Colorado's 150th birthday as a state. There are all kinds of celebrations planned, which promise crowds of people in Denver. But it never occurred to me that Colorado's birthday party would affect anything I was doing, but I was wrong.
I stopped at the local hardware store to fill up with propane, where everything seemed normal, but as soon as I got out on the roads at about 8:30 this morning, the traffic was shocking.
As usual, I only got as far as the Bass Pro shop in Colorado Springs, where I plan on spending the night boondocking in their parking lot, and I would guess it took almost twice as long as usual to get there due to bumper-to-bumper traffic all the way. The traffic was moving okay; it's just that there was so much of it. But I'll be at Pete's tomorrow, and hopefully, just like me, nothing has changed.

Because my camper is parked in the shade and I've been busy with other things, my new Doo Doo battery never fully charged. But when parked in the sun at the Bass Pro Shop parking lot, it's now fully charged, as you can see by the 100% State of Charge ‘‘SOC’’. But the interesting thing to me is it shows its capacity as 336 amps, which is substantially more than the 320 amps it's supposed to have….. I don't know if that's accurate or not, but I will take it as a good sign.
