Winter is flying by
This place is fast becoming the desert that it's supposed to be. The 10-day weather forecast is calling for 3 days over 90 degrees and 3 days over 100 degrees. It seems like this winter is flying by, and I'll soon be heading back to Denver.
It looks like I'll have to wait until I get to Colorado Springs to get some reading glasses made. Right now, I'm still using my cheapo Walmart reading glasses, but I can't see very well with them because my eyes each need a different prescription, and I don't think Walmart sells anything like that. I just need a real eye doctor to check my eyes and make me some glasses that work.
I found a place in Colorado Springs called Veterans Eye Care online, and it sounds like they will fix me up for free. So it looks like I'll be wearing these Walmart readers for a while longer.
I really need to get into town and buy some groceries. I just ate my last can of soup today. There's really nothing stopping me from going into town, and I can think of half a dozen reasons that I need to do it; it's just laziness and procrastination that keep me digging this rut deeper and deeper when I should be out doing something.
Oh well, I won't starve, I can always shoot a prairie dog and make some Prairie dog a la Orange. Braised prairie dog in a red wine sauce. Broiled prairie dog tail with garlic butter. Or that Desert Classic, Prairie dog, and cactus chili.

Nothing says Arizona like a bunch of Saguaro cactus.
Some of my boondocking neighbors.
It’s hard to believe I can live like this, and I’m only 3 or 4 miles from a Safeway.
