100+ degrees? Are you kidding me!
The weather is going to get interesting. The 10-day forecast shows five days straight of 90°+ weather, then five days straight of 100°+ weather. That seems awfully hot for this time of year, or maybe I'm just getting old and can't take the heat anymore. What really worries me is the nighttime lows on some of those hundred-degree days; nights are supposed to be in the mid-60s, which to me is way too warm for a good night's sleep. But as a boondocker, I'm required to deal with whatever comes along, and I'm a firm believer in the adage.... That which does not kill me makes me stronger.
I reckon I could head up north to the Flagstaff area of Arizona; it should be cooler up there. The Coconino National Forest is where many folks go. However, I've never heard much good about the Rangers and the costs of using those public lands. From what I've read and heard, the Rangers are extremely strict, concessionaires have taken over much of the area, and there are fees for just about everything.
Now I don't know if any of that's true, because I've never stayed there. I've driven through it numerous times, but I see plenty of pine trees and forests in Colorado, so in Arizona, I'm much more interested in the desert.
